Is the DotNet Compact Framework only compatible with WM 5.0?

 I did install this software to my pda, and when tried to run it, it will not
 work. I did a little research and found out that this software comes with net
 compact framework 2.0 which is only compatible with WM 5.0. I did uninstalled
 it and installed net compact framework 1.0 SP3, since I am running WM 3.0.
 After doing so and tried to run app, no good, it says that a newer version of
 net compact framework is required (2.0). Please help with this issue.

The Microsoft DotNet Compact Framework 2 is compatible with the following devices: Pocket PC 2002, Windows Mobile 2003, WM 5 und WM 6. It is no problem having multiple versions of the Compact Framework on your device. They can resists next to each other.

To install a application on your device, which is using DotNet CF 1.0, you install .NET CF 1.0 SP 3. If you have another application which relies on DotNet CF 2.0, then  install .NET CF 2.0 additionally.

Microsoft already released .NET Compact Framework 2.0 SP1 (please see their download pages). They also told us on the CES, .NET CF 2.0 applications works with Windows Mobile 6.
